Nicholas is a Development Economist and Chartered Accountant with thirty years work experience in project management and consulting covering market systems development, trade and investment, small and medium enterprise development, climate mitigation and adaptation, advocacy, policy support, organizational and institutional development in Africa.
He has carried out several short and long-term assignments in different industry sectors including agriculture, transportation, energy, tourism, mining, banking and education. These have involved projects funded by USAID, Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Government of Netherlands,World Bank, International Financial Corporation, German GIZ and European Union.
He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in audit and advisory services and later founded and managed a consulting firm for fourteen years. He has held programme management roles in the development sector including West Africa Regional Director of the USAID Africa Trade and Investment Program; Global Lead for Solidaridad Network’s global expertise team on supportive business ecosystems; Program Manager for the Sustainable West Africa Palm Oil Programme at Solidaridad West Africa; Program Manager at TechnoServe and Team Leader for the Trade and Marketing component of the USAID Agricultural Development and Value Chain Enhancement Project (USAID ADVANCE) in Ghana.
He holds M.A. Economic Policy Management and BSc Administration degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Certified Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).
