Lom Ahlijah is admitted to the bar in both the Republic of Ghana and the State of New York, United States. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the prestigious Harvard Law School in Massachusetts, USA.
With extensive experience in corporate and commercial legal work, Lom also holds a certificate in the “Language of Business” from Harvard Business School.
He has served as an external consultant for London Research International and as an International Visiting Counsel at the UK law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP) through the International Lawyers for Africa Programme.
Lom’s significant corporate and transactional experience includes advising, drafting, and negotiating various transaction documents such as property acquisition, property financing, and securitization documentation. He has conducted due diligence on numerous companies involved in M&A and joint venture transactions.
Additionally, Lom has considerable experience in cross-border project evaluation related to the West African Power Pool Interconnection Projects. He has advised on several national policies and served on key committees in the Republic of Ghana, including the Ghana Nuclear Power Programme Organisation Lawyers’ Group and the Ghana Energy Sector Cash Waterfall Committee.
Lom has authored a book on energy law and co-authored one on commercial law.
Lom also teaches Commercial Law and Legal Writing at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
